The specs are nothing short of beefy - something that should theoretically heads & shoulders above the Wii, and somewhere close to 360/PS3 level. The real question is if developers push the console like they have with other consoles / mobile games. If they do, there will be some sick games. |
so you (may have mentioned it in my other thread but memory doesn't serve me well) have interest in Ouya.
i'd like to see Developers take full advantage of Ouya, but i think the problem with that will be a new Ouya releasing every yr.
i think yr'ly iterastions will kill Ouya.

It doesn't hurt Apple and iOS developers. It shouldn't hurt Ouya. The real advantage is a stable development platform - devs know that there is one system to develop for. Even though there will be a new console with specifications, it shouldn't mean its not backwards compatable with other titles. That is a huge flaw in the Android ecosystem.
So despite the yearly iterations, it can still be a very good experience. The real key is how many are sold. It really needs to hit 1m+ to have a sizable user base. If it does, it could be a very interesting competitor this coming gen.

i think it can do 1m. i'm still not in favor of a yr'ly but i guess it's not so bad considering it's BC.
word o mouth should help it along.
