I can see the release on other platforms, but why not just release the finished Wii U version? Ubisoft didn't need this and merely releasing the game in a couple weeks would have caused none of this.

of course they don't.  but ubi just saw bad numbers for ACIII, for just dance, and for zombie U.  wiiU isn't selling very good post holiday.  i've said it before and i'll say it again -- third parties don't create markets, that's the job of the platform holder.  

not that we can prove anything but i'll bet my hat ubi is delaying in hopes that wiifit, bayonetta, mario kart, pikmin, wonderful 101, and whatever else nintendo launches before september creates enough of a wiiU market for their game to have a chance not to fail.  but with nintendo just delaying all of their own games out of first quarter i can't say i really fault ubi's decision.  nintendo needs to be the one selling the wiiU, not ubisoft.
