In this very post you yourself said that a game that costs US$60 is sometimes AU$80, sometimes AU$90, sometimes 100 or 110. So what kind of reference point can your price be for us?

Ah, but what kind of reference point can US prices be for us, when it fluctuates so much? That's the problem - no matter which currency you choose, it's not going to provide a solid reference point for everyone.

As for your comment about it being a forum, I'm going to point out something really important again: This came from an article. Pezus didn't come up with the OP, he copied it from a website (and provided a link to said website). Are you suggesting that Pezus edits somebody else's article? Or that a person writing an article doesn't have the right to use whichever currency they want?

I'm in the same position as you are and the US price is a very good indicator for me. When I hear the US price, I know what to expect in my country and I'm pretty sure you feel more or less the same. It's not the case when I hear the AU price - this number tells me absolutely nothing and that's the biggest difference and reason why we all should stick to something everyone can relate to. And if you're not buying this, then just accept the fact, that Australia is tiny and has it's crazy ways, while the rest of the world is huge and in this forum we're focusing on world sales, not just the fickle Australian market.

I didn't notice it was an article, my bad. But he could at least include a rough explanation as to what these prices mean in the rest of the world, something understandable for other people - that's what I would do. Still, the OP wasn't the only post in which you were talking about AU$, hence my postulate.

For god's sake, just Google the conversion like we all have to do. Talk about whinging...

For God's sake read and think about what you read before posting such a stupid comment. It's not about conversions, but I'm not going to repeat what I wrote a number of times in this topic.

You mentioned varying prices, yet the original topic focused on ONE price, to which you replied: "Please use a real currency, not Australian wallnuts."

I'm sorry, but when did YOUR half-baked currency become a real currency? For a country that has twice the population and only 1/3 of the GDP of Australia, I suggest that you keep quiet about "real" currencies".

You can argue all you like, but if you're having to convert with the US$ as a middleman, you're going to have a bigger margin of error on the end result, ESPECIALLY if you're converting to a more volatile "wallnut".

Another up-tight Aussie... Are you all like that? Is it cause you walk up-side down all the time and blood hits your heads?

I should just ask to read my posts again and think, but I see you're not capable of doing that, so I'll answer. I have never said my currency is "real" for these purposes - I have stated multiple times in this very thread that I am using exclusively US $ or Euro, so stop trying to imply that I said something I didn't. And yes, using the middleman is much easier for me, cause the exchange rate in gaming business are at the same level all the time and they ignore the day-to-day fluctuations of exchange rate between Euro and Złoty. A game that costs Euro 60 always costs the same amount in my country. It also works for the prices of consoles. You tell me the price in Euro or US$ and I know how much it will cost me. On the other hand, you give me the price in AU $ and I have no idea where to put it. Not even the slightest, even knowing the exchange rate. And that ONE price you talk about - go check how the exchange for Wii and Wii U were working just to see how much information can a price in your currency give to anyone outside of your country.

Moreover, this forum and this topic includes a worldwide strategy that Sony is supposed to start. If people from all around the globe are to discuss its viability, there is no point in using some wallnut currencies that are used in one small market, which treated in a ridiculous way by the gaming industry. We should stick to what controls 2/3 of the world market and is understandable to everyone.

To the article - good for you, but when it comes to gaming industry you guys are treated like the 3rd world even compared to Poland. We have a fixed rate of exchange with Euro, which gives us stability and actually lower prices than the Euro zone, while you never know what you'll end up seeing in the stores. A US$60 game can cost anything from AU$80 to 110, the same goes for consoles. So your currency can't be considered any kind of a reference point, no matter what economists think about it. Just deal with it.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
