Not surprising. MS viewed the Xbox as a 20 year investment and was more than willing to eat some losses to get it off the ground, starting with the multiple billions they spent making Live. I don't think in their wildest dreams they thought they'd have this much success this generation and make so much money on Live and the Xbox.
