I agree that Rockstar is the best publisher. They are very respected. Valve and Bethesda also does a good job.
The main difference is that big publishers publish a lot more games than mid tier. Rockstar doesnt publish a lot of games but the ones that they do are huge. Sony publishes a lot more games with a lot of hit and miss titles. Does that make sense?

so it comes done to number of games, i see. and i forgot about valve. its silly people are fighting about sony vs ms when rockstar kicks both of their asses with their score

Pretty much. It's what ive been talking about recently, is that many games get a lot of attention in forums just because they are exclusive and not because they are good. While other games get ignored even if they are better because they are multiplatform. I love sony and MSFT as they have had some big games but both are no where near perfect. They both publish games every year that i could care less about. Some are good and some are bad. When companies like EPIC, Valve, and Rockstar announces a game though, I'm listening right a way. Wether they are developing it or publishing it.

oh yes i agree, just look at your threads about the top games of the generation you made, its mostly exclusives. or your best shooter thread. also mostly exclusives even though red dead redemption and have higher meta scores than most of those exclusives. and yet they come in here and fight about metascores and point them out as an evidence for quality.

I know. that's why i hate doing those threads now and have changed the rules this year. I'm rankng themm three different ways though to avoid the exclusive fest that we usually have.

the exclusive fest will always come up sadly. its sad when gamers point out games like journy (even though great) non stop but ignore games like to the moon just because its not exclusive
