Which I believe very firmly points towards a continuation of The Last Story being in the works. Which potentially means another exclusive Wii U or 3DS title to be happy about.
Very similar style to Last Story, particularly the art that came on the Limited Edition box, the kind of brown-scale promotional art they did:
The guy in the centre looks very similar to Zael, particularly with the clothing (apart from the face, so a Zael-esque protaganist? or just Zael?), and has "Outsider" style markings on him. The wolf next to him could be one of the guardian spirit things, like the tiger? The tiger was all over concept art but seemed to be forgotten during large stretches of the game. Perhaps a concept that would be utilised more fully by a (spiritual or direct) sequel/prequel?
The two flying creatures look very similar to the beasts that defend/embody each half of the Outsider in The Last Story:
Not the best screens, but if you remember them from the game, again, too similar to be a coincidence.
And those pillars remind me of the pillars you see around Lazulis Island in wider shots. For me, this strongly suggests a Last Story sequel/prequel/continuation. There are too many similarites, I feel.
So basically, I conclude this is definitely Last Story related. But what exactly could it be? A prequel, based on events described in The Last Story, depicting the events that led to the Outsider arriving on the same planet as Lazulis Island? Or a sequel, in which the power of the Outsider is utilised by Zael, or descendants of Zael and Calista?
Feel free to speculate. Personally, I think this is great news. The Last Story wasn't a brilliant game in and of itself, but there are strong foundations to build on.
