Sounds about right, honestly. The developers tried to give it the same feel as the older games. Critics look for things to be critical of, while the average gamer looks for things to enjoy. That's a much different perspective.
This game isn't trying to do anything new or different, it's just trying to give a similar experience to the games that came before it. I have no problem with that. The game still looks like fun.
