sigh listen..this is the ps4 reveal. It's being confirmed by several trusted sources already. They will not bother holding an event called the PS Meeting if it wasn't a hardware reveal. This is a special event sony does to unveil hardware and afaik there has been no exceptions.

Gaikai will be a part of their future strategy but they won't have a whole event just for that. Gaikai will get mentioned most probably during this event as well as at E3.

If you are so confident I am even willing to take a bet on this :)

No way, I'm not confident at all. I have no idea what they want to do, so I'll gladly defer.

I was just thinking through what I would consider best for Sony, and I personally settled on Gaikai reveal. It seems the best time, as everyone is desperate for next-gen news and will be paying attention. And it's not the easiest concept for the general consumer to grasp, so if they can throw the spotlight on it while nothing else is going on the more people will talk about this. $380 million is still a lot to spend on what will be a footnote to the presentation.

You're probably right though, maybe there are advantages to an early PS4 launch I haven't considered.

Gaikai should be and most probably will be a huge part of it..but it shouldn't be the focus. Sony is doing the right. They released a 44 second video that has over 4mil views now that says absolutely nothing. With this move it shows they are serious and confident. It's a good move. It won't do them any good if the reveal is lack luster however lol. But yes I think they are going at it hard this time and it will be mainly about PS4 for the rest of the year.
