Just download Pinball Arcade and Sky Gamblers.   Waking Mars looks really good too.

I was really interested in get Buldar's Gate but was put off by the reviews.  Are they fixing a lot of the issues with it?

I don't think I've seen a crash since the latest patch, and they've addressed the looting issue with a smart radius feature that checks for nearby containers. The two outstanding issues for me are slowdowns caused by heavy spell effects (Overhaul is working to fix this with a rewrite of the renderer, might take a while) and area exits being difficult to find if you don't know where to look. There was an amazing amount of progress between the launch version and the patch one month later, so I feel confident in saying it's only going to get better.

Ultimately, how much you enjoy BG on iPad may depend on how familiar you are with Baldur's Gate and 2nd Edition AD&D rules. There's little coddling, and it can really feel like the deep end if you have no familiarity.

I'm old school.  I was playing Pool of Radiance back in the 80's and finished both Buldar's Gates on PC.    Wouldn't mind playing them again.  If I could get the iPad away from my son long enough to play it.   Don't think it'd be playable on my phone.
