There's nothing wrong with the Vita itself that doesn't appeal to Japan. It's the lack of high profile Japanese games that is keeping its sales low. At least that's what I think. I'm sure the majority of people know that the Vita IS the PSP2. They just see no reason to "upgrade".

You contradicted yourself. A console is defined by its games. The fact that there is no high profile Japanese Vita games is the equivalent to Vita not being appealing to the Japanese
