What HE put in the PS3 gave it the legs it has today. Without him we wouldn't be bragging about Uncharted and God of War right now. |
I love the dude, too. Without him we wouldn't have the PS brand. Though, he did make a few bad decisions with the PS2 and PS3, mainly pushing a new CPU architecture for each. This made both of them quite a bit different to develop for than the other consoles, which caused developers to take longer to learn how to use the systems to their full potential. Fortunately for the PS2, it didn't affect the price of the console by much. Unfortunately for the PS3, it did. Ken would have been much better off putting a customized version of an already existing CPU in the PS3. It would have cut down on R&D, as well as manufactoring costs. It seems Kaz is going with this approach with the PS4, which will help keep the retail price down and lead to games being much more easily developed.
