Is a traditional console that ONLY plays games no longer possible?

But... but... the GameCube had all that, too!

The Gamecube had no Super Mario Bros., no real Donkey Kong game, a Zelda that was disliked by many due to its art style (Twilight Princess rectified this issue, though it arrived way too late) and a 3D Mario that was disliked by many due to being too different from previous Mario games.

Additionally, the Gamecube had none of those Wii titles which the Wii U will have.
