I honestly think this will only affect hardcore gamers (ala people on this site who actually read up about these things), but I think most actually take gaming too seriously to ignore their system of choice because of the used game policy.
The average gamers only buys a handful of games each year. They don't need used titles...
If you don't like nintendo Ips, your not gonna buy a wii U... simple. IF you don't play halo, fable or gears (or anything new the announce) but you're loving what sony is showing off, then you're not gonna pick up 720 just to make a political statement. You end up spending $40 extra each year, its not the end of the world. It reminds of when people said they would not support games with online passes. I wonder how many people actually followed up on that and avoided a game they would have otherwise bought.
