Cloud services are temporary services that can be closed at any time. In short, you dont really own anything with it. They are renting services.

Wouldn't that imply that they are the future, as companies desperately try to wring out more and more revenue from a shrinking userbase?

Did game renting services replace physical purchases before sucessfully? 

Where does your money go if the service is closed? I can understand digital purchases if they are cheaper than physical, they are appealing, but services like this are trouble waiting to happen. PS+ is interesting for example, but if Sony bankrupts and the service goes down, all those free games you got disappear. You cant play them anymore. Its still a much better service than Xbox gold, but the deal breaker is right there. Its wether people become aware of it or not.
