I think the PS4 will do just fine regardless of its controller or it price - if you consider the PS3. Sony has a lot of support in gaming from being the 'standard' for at least two gaming generations. So while PS4 might struggle like PS3 did out the blocks, it also certainly wouldn't fail, as PS3 didn't later on in the race.
