"Development costs money. Software is a commercial enterprise. It is done to garner profit. There is risk involved. Risk must be minimised to maximise potential profit. Therefore, why delay the release of software for systems with over 150 million customers, more if including PC, in order to sell the game to customers of a system that has yet to reach even 5 million users? Answer: it should not happen."

Good article, especially that last bit (aside from the lack of spell-check). The Wii U isn't getting multi-platform games right now because it's not worth it. Point-blank. This generation is ending and developers are desperate to get their games out on-schedule. No one wants to delay a PS3/360 release now, much less for a console with a tiny installed base. It's just not a good idea. Sorry, but it's true.

The same theory holds for why no one is worrying about getting out late ports right now, either. Small installed base and the publishers that tried it barely got any nibbles at launch.

It might be discouraging, but Wii U owners shouldn't really be that worried about not getting PS3/360 ports. It's just not on anyone's agenda. If the Wii U fails to get multi-platform releases that appear on the PS4/720, THEN you should worry.

i agree with you, ports from past gen are not important... multi-platform releases that appear on the PS4/720 are the real important games for wiiU
