I would think probably a good thing. They look like they will be quite similar consoles, with Microsoft having Kinect 2.0 and Sony having Gaikai. By going first, Sony can get the benefit of being the first to impress with next-gen graphics, relying mostly on that for the impact. If Microsoft had showed off next-gen graphics + Kinect first, Sony might look like a watered down experience when shown afterwards.
Gaikai sounds great, but if a lot harder to demonstrate. It's like the difference between demonstrating the appeal of Wii vs Wii U. Wii U has more, but it's harder to convey to the average person. Sony needs people talking about this console without always simultaneously comparing it to the next Xbox.
