It is EA's fault that they couldn't use the 2.5 months between the PS3/360/Wii/Vita and Wii U releases to make the game actually on par with the other versions, or better (as it absolutely should have been). If they didn't intend to make the game right, they shouldn't have made it at all, and they have no grounds to complain about its sales. |
Once again, this is no different from the first Madden appearance on PS3 and 360. They both had problems and were missing features.
Every reason you've listed in this thread, late release, no install base, missing features, etc. was true for the 360 and PS3. Despite that, those versions sold vastly more than the Wii U version. So we are left with Madden simply selling extremely poorly on the Wii U. Even if Wii U had been a perfect port with no missing features, how much do you think it would have sold, realistically? Keeping in mind, the best selling third party game in the USA for Wii U is substantially lower than the 360 and PS3's first Madden.
