So they made their games bomb on purpose? How does that even make sense? If they don't want to make games for the Wii U, there is nothing to stop them from saying, "Fuck U, we're not making games for the Wii U."

Because investors would ask questions. If you send a couple games out to die and eat the loss, you shut down objections.

Either that, or the games that we did end up getting were too far along in development before EA and Nintendo had their falling-out, so EA just gimped the projects and dumped out whatever existed.

I mean, the language you're hearing from them recently is "fuck 'em, we're not making games for that," certainly. But they'll use the deliberately-poor games they put out as a "sound" reason, which people unwilling to accept the fact that EA's leadership is fundamentally irrational will use to defend their sleaze for the rest of the generation.
