What is the purpose of eternal Hell?

He asked what was the purpose of hell and I said why, it was something that someone came up with in an attempt that it'd stop people from doing wrong, it's just to scare people off from it.

You be good you go to heaven and if you be bad you go to hell, it's exactly the same as parents telling kids if they be good Santa will vist and if you're naughty he wont.

Except for some reason people actually thing the heaven and hell concept is real when it's no more real than Santa.

Well, he cannot actually prove it, but the fact that there is a complete lack of evidence supporting his existence while the traits that he supposedly has have been proven illogical (and quite francly are absurd), there really is no reason for a reasonable person to believe in him. And the fact that there are songs and stories written about him doesn't change anything: Believing that Santa is real is borderline insane.

But no, neither he nor anyone else can truly know.

 

 

 

 

 

(Yes, I'm obviously joking. And I know that believing in God is a different thing and has nothing to do with insanity. A lot of other factors are involved in such beliefs.)
