With all the big games coming out this year (Killzone, Tearaway, Soul Sacrifice etc) plus an inevitable price cut, the Vita should do well. If the Vita gets a price cut and all these games but still fails, then I will say it's doomed.

Thing is, these aren't really 'huge' titles that will cause the Vita to shoot skyward.  Call of Duty & Assassin's Creed, unfortunately, were those games & they were rushed last year and released outside of a pricecut.

They will all do their bit.  Killzone should do quite well, especially if there's another big IP to partner it through the holiday season.  Tearaway + the two upcoming LEGO games should do their part for attracting a more casual crowd, especially combined with a price cut.  Soul Sacrifice, Valhalla Knights, Muramasa & Ys should contribute to some of the JRPG loving crowd picking up the console.

Vita should do better this year at the very least.  It would just really help if there was another big name - a God of War, Gran Turismo or Grand Theft Auto - to go with Killzone through the holidays.

Who knows maybe there are other titles in development. Possibly another Assassins Creed and Call of Duty. Now the developers have learned their mistakes with the first game and have gotten the hang of developing for the Vita so they can improve the sequels. Plus God of War handheld titles have always been unveiled right after their console counterpart have been released so maybe we will get a GoW on the Vita announcement soon.
