| Nsanity said: About the frame-rate "There’s obviously not complete parity with the PS3 version and the framerate’s noticeably lower, but there’s no question it’s a good-looking game. It’s worth bearing in mind that Mercenary isn’t out till September, so there’s plenty of time for optimisation" http://www.vg247.com/2013/01/31/killzone-mercenary-multiplayer-shorelines-and-shanking/ |
This may help:
think of it this way the RSX's fill rate is slightly higher than 4Gpixels/sec..you do know the PSVita's GPU has a higher fill rate vs's the PS3's RSX!
THE SGX543MP4+ to put this in perspective it does not have to push a higher resolution, but it can indeed use the art assets of what the d@mn xbox360 and the PS3 are using, aside from the Nvidia shield, and the WikiPad no other Handheld is as capapble of the PSVita and i doubt any will for the future. because i doubt very many will be 1) dedicated game machine handhelds made with more than 128 MB of GPU ram outside of Sony and maybe Nvidia! even the Nintendo 3DS which is a great handheld though a very good gaming handheld system has a GPU no where near the level of the PSVita's GPU. and we have seen what the PICA 200 CAN DO. its a single core its good, but no where near PS3 or xbox360 level.
the fact that the PSVits GPU fillrate exceed's even the xbox360 and the PS3's GPU fill rate show's just how close this PSVita's GPU capabilities to even a living room Game system. remember the PSVita's resolution can be higher but is limited to 540p for a reason! performance is increased. but even @540p AND PUSHING THAT FILL RATE! its FPS are going to be very stable, since the rate of the SGX543MP4+ is over 200MHz!
Try to find another handheld except for the Nvidia shield even come's close to that, there is none other than the PSVita my friend.
I heard many say where are the AAA exclusives that take advantage of the PSVita's hardware
They are, development for the PSVita is not like the PSP or the DS or 3DS, it can be in making games but to make something like TearAway, or KZ:M requires lot's more time, lol Quite a bit more time infact its exactly like making a game on the level of a Game for a living room console! like the ps3 or the xbox360. The hardware in the PSVita remember.
The PSVita's SGX GPU Has
PowerVR’s Series5 (SGX) series feature pixel, vertex and geometry shader hardware. They suppport OpenGL 2.0 and DirectX 10.1 Shader Model 4.1.
this is not stripped out ver of game engine's, this is a full game engine that the living room consoles USE!
