But a reasonable IQ test doesn't measure what you know or even how you grow up, for instance. Studies in the Netherlands after the second world war showed there was no difference between the intelligence of those who became severily malnourished and those who don't.
And there's a limit for your supposed genotypical / phenotypical discrepancy. It should the same as height, really. A child can be taller or smaller than it's parents, and you can get a litte better with the right upbringing, but it's often predictable where they will end up.
