Were you  around when the Neo Geo was out?  I remember the console.  We were excited for it.  It had good games.  Itespecially had great fighting games.  Fighting games at the time were as popular as shooters are today.

I really wanted one but we were too young to afford it.  The Sega Genesis, the console that "won" that generation is one of my favourite consoles of all time.  I loved the Super Nintendo too.  I'm saying if SNK's Neo Geo had been competitive on price, it would have done very well.  When we went to arcades, we were playing SNK games.  You can't say quality over quantity and say the Neo Geo was poor quality.  It simply wasn't true in any way.

I remember those times! I had the Intellivision and the ZX Spectrum, already old when Neo Geo was launched, and I loved them, but even more recent consoles couldn't reach arcade quality in those times, and so Neo Geo was the forbidden dream of most home gamers.
BTW, when I bought my first PC, in 1997, PCs still struggled to catch up with arcades, it took the first GPUs to make them become the top for graphics, while they already dominated for complex games needing more RAM and hard drive storage.
