Wild Arms 5
.hack GU Vol 3
Tales of Symphonia

...These are just the ones I've played that you missed. Anyone else feel free to add ones I missed like Shadow Hearts 1, the rest of the .hack games (5 other games...), Rogue Galaxy, Disgaea, Mana Khemia, Atelier, other Wild Arms, Dark Cloud 1, Raidou 1, whatever...

You're seriously missing a lot of good last gen RPGs. Out of the ones I listed the only ones I didn't like that much were Suikoden III and maybe Xenosaga 1. Kind of the DDS series but only for the high encounter rate; eveything else was good.

think? LOL

that was the main problem with this generation

Sony is to blame for the japanese decline this gen honestly

Why do you say that?

In the home console space, the japanese market pretty much thrives on the Sony platforms

notice how the japanese market pretty much sunk as soon as the PS3 came to the scene. The majority in japan tends to buy everything on the PlayStation. almost every known japanese game has sold less than it normally would on PlayStation 3 this gen(even though they all still sold the most on ps3 compared to other versions). Nintendo had the Japanese market on lock with the Wii but the games just didn't sell on it for some reason besides the Marios and what not(or atleast they would have sold more on ps3)

the survival of the japanese home console market pretty much depends on Sony for the most part. If Sony does well then the japanese market does well but if Sony doesn't do well then the japanese market wont do well

The market didn't "BOOM" like it was supposed to when PS3 arrived. The price of the ps3 kept everybody away from it. If the people of the japanese market don't buy the console then who is going to buy the games?

the 1st impression is a killer so of course when games came out on the expensive ass console the people didn't buy them. which then gave devs the impression that something was wrong. They stopped making games like they used to because of this. the devs who still made jrpgs all jumped to the handhelds just to BARELY SURVIVE because of Sony and their decision to bid theirselves out with the console price

Wii U sold like 400k 1st week in japan and i read that ps2 surprisingly sold A LOT more than that when it came out at it's $299 price point and it was also selling at a good pace throughout it's years. The PS3 launched at $599 and sold a little over 80k it's 1st week.

at this point, the home console part of the japanese market can boom again BUT it all depends on what Sony does this generation with the PS4.

it is simple really. all they have to do is price the PS4 at $399. the market will thrive again if Sony plays their cards right. The japanese devs wont be scared to make games for the PS4. They won't have to worry about their games not selling well because the PS4 will be a lot cheaper than what PS3 launched at so the REAL gamers and younger crowd can get their hands on a PS4 more easily FROM JUMP! They can also buy their games early on. devs will be able to take more risks

the absence of the Japanese market this gen was Sonys fault

it all depends on Sony
