"It's done this with practically every feature on Xbox Live Gold. Netflix, Amazon Video, and (before retirement) social apps like Twitter and Facebook all require Gold subscriptions to use, despite these items being freely available on almost every electronic device on the market."

Is exactly why I don't like Xbox Live. Everyone talks how it is so much better than PSN but you are pretty much forced into paying for Gold to even enjoy your system at all. That is just wrong in my opinion. Especially holding you out from playing your games online. How can you take away the online from the game I just spent $60 on? I don't understand it. Why do people happily throw away money for Xbox Live?

PSN is great because I mainly only use my PS3 for games (online and offline). I don't really care for the PS+ and all the other chat stuff Live has. If I'm going to mic chat it will be with the people I'm playing with in the server, not some guy who is playing some other random game. Why would I want to talk to the guy playing AC3 while I play CoD multiplayer? I guess the only real thing that would make Xbox Live better would be that they get a demo for pretty much every game, but I can live without that. I know for the most part what I like and I can still find ways to try out the game if I'm not sure about it.
