Good advice to anyone reading this, you're right. For me, it's about being convincing when talking about work, research, discussions...etc. It's literally the difference between a passing grade and an excellent one (my friend vs me respectively. Sad, but true). Thankfully, it's easy to fake, and even fun (to act and watch people buy it). I don't bother if unnecessary (hanging out/whatever).
