Why wait that long to introduce a new console when Microsoft will snatch all of Sony's potential market and Wii U will already have it's base settled thus leaving two kings reigning for (at the very least based on Nextbox rumors) 2 years (2014 - 2016)? Sony would lose out on multiplats and maybe even some of their own exclusives. That is indefinite suicide for their company. They would end up taking the Dreamcast path after something like that.
