@toadslayer72: (I can't quote on my phone) get into the 21st century dude. The scientific consensus is that that planets are plentiful in the galaxy / universe. There are vastly more stars with planets than without. Back in the mid 90s cosmologists thought planets were probably rare. But now that they are finding them wherever they look they've revised their theory that planets are pretty much everywhere.

In the unlikely event that aliens have come to this part of space I doubt they've come any closer than a high orbit. Given we have satellite tech that can read number plates I'm sure any aliens would have sufficient tech to take all sorts of readings from a safe distance. Aliens that are more tech advanced than us are almost certainly more civilised than us. So they are less likely to want to interfere in a primative civilisation than even we are. I imagine they'd have something very much like the prime directive.
