Will Final Fantasy Versus XIII ever be released?

The main reason is that I don't expect it to live up to my initial expectations anymore. It's not like back in '09, when I was waiting with baited breath for even the tiniest sliver of news whenever I could get it. The reason it's taking so long is because of how they've gone all hands on deck to fix the disaster that was FFXIV.

After seven years of waiting, and all the blunders and controversies surrounding their FF output this gen, this could very well end up being a Duke Nukem Forever situation. I still want to get it, but I'm not nearly as excited now. I don't get why people are still expecting another FFVII blockbuster after this long.
