We need to talk about the Wii U sales, what happened?

The release of Ps4 and 720 wont get rid of the Wii U's competition from ps3 and 360... those will still be there. Those releases will make competition more feirce and unlikely good for Nintendo.

I have the feeling the biggest competition of the new console will be their predecessors.

Just like current gen, the ps2 held up on its own merits against the ps3 and 360. However, when that dies down more competition isn't going to translate into higher sales like vghippys comment would lead you to believe

The problem is that for publishers and devs it will be hard to just ignore a 140m install base, and considering how high development cost are this decision will be even harder to make. This next gen transition will take longer than previous ones imo.
