That made me laugh. I'll second that. (That's my favorite, so that I fit into Soriku's rule. The rest are just honorable mentions)
If it didn't amount to animal cruelty, I'd say Angelo from FF8. What kind of pet owner had an armguard that shoots your dog head first at enemies, Rinoa?!
I also liked Interceptor from FF6.
