I really enjoyed the first Transformers movie. While it wasn't perfect, moments like the base attack at the beginning made me feel like a kid again and the transformations were incredible.
But I STILL haven't seen the third movie yet because the second one left such a bad taste in my mouth - although the forest battle mentioned earlier was great - but man, the story/dialogue was terrible, Jetfire and Wheelie sucked, and those two hip-hop autobots made Jar Jar Binks look like Darth Vader.
