What game this gen were you personally super hyped for and it ended up meeting or exceeding those lofty expectations?
For me it was a really hard choice here. Both Ratchet and Clank Future: ACiT and Resistance 3 just soared past my expectations and GoW3 incredibly surpassed the scale and brutality I expected. In the end I had to go with Ratchet as usual. It's my favorite game this gen and I didn't think they could top ToD, but damn did they outdo themselves. The humor was incredible and made me feel like a kid, the weapons were creative and the platforming and mini games were spot on, and the ending was so emotional for me that I had tears of sorrow one minute and tears of joy the next. It established Ratchet as my favorite franchise of the gen for a second straight time and showed that Insomniac still has some true magic in them, even if they haven't shown it since Resistance 3.
