Eh, all three Gears games were sold in one bundle or another. Shouldn't use that as a criteria for influence, because if you're hinting at what I think you are, "that" franchise is successful without bundling too (and also has its share of recent games looking to it for inspiration).

Heck, by that same principle, Call of Duty doesn't need a single bundle to wipe the floor with Gears in popularity, sales, and impact. But that's another story.

no it is not what I was hinting (although it is massivily bundled. still gets around 4m which is very good), and a Limited edition bundle is very differrent from a regular bundle.  I was simply saying that is is popular for a reason and that people buy it for that reason.   How many games can you say reach 6m without bundles?  Very few.

But you can't say "without bundles" and then talk about a series that has had bundles. They are irrelavnt to me personally, but cannot be ignored when sizing up sales. Popularity and impact are a whole other matter, and both Gears and Uncharted have had that (with or without bundling).

If you got rid of Gears limited edition bundle which is geared towards people who are buying the game anyways you would cut off what 100K maybe 200K?  Very little.  Not sure how many limited edition bundles they make but I do know it isnt much and it is 100$ more twhich means you are paying for the game and console.  And Im not making this into some competion with Uncharted as I said before you can argue which is better.  They are both amazing games.
