I was planning on making a similar thread. Nintendo Direct did pretty much how that they are struggling with HD development and are even apologizing for the lack of games January and February with no system sellers in sight until probably the holidays. They're not in a good position right now. They are first to market and they are failing to make the best of it. The whole presentation did seem to be like a bit of damage control.

Given the development times, Nintendo couldn't meet the launch (or launch window) of the Wii U. Considering the low sales I imagine Nintendo expect the announcement of this games to boost the sales at least to E3, I don't see it happening. As much as I loved the ND the simple announcement won't do the job, the sales could increase a little but not by much really.

There's a 3rd party ND coming in February, although I don't expect any big hitters, there's probably some content that will keep some gamers interested until Nintendo first party games come out.
