I was thinking the same, otherwise it would make no sense. If the downloadable file size is the same as the size of the disc version install I think it is obvious.
Having said that, it is also quite obvious that people who buy the disc version are disapointted to see that the disc is just a distribution media and the actual game is fully copied to the HDD instead of retaining some of the data on the disc to save space. I'm not totally happy with that either, but I don't necessarily see this as a sign of things to come, apart from games available both as downloadable and on blu-ray.
