Are they allowed? All I can say is that you have to be ready for the possible consequences if you do. This should be a nice, long, and fun post.

First off, let me start at the beginning. Earlier in my VGChartz career I wrote quite a few joke threads ( I don't call them troll threads because I didn't have the intention of pissing people off). Whether they were funny or not depends on who you talk to. These threads, sarcastic comments, and several jokes containing irony are kind of what helped me gain some "popularity" on this site. This makes me a bit of an expert on joke threads in general and makes me a guy to talk to about the threads listed in the OP. I read them all and I'll give you my opinion on all of them.

MBP's thread - I look at this as being a parody of the user reviews done on the other sites. I also thought that it was a subtle jab at one of the users on this site that gave out a lot of 0/10 scores... I don't know if this user who I will not name was the one that reported mbp or not. Personally I didn't find it offensive or funny. The problem was that it was a bit too accurate of a portrayal of some of those user reviews on other sites. I wouldn't have locked it. All of this being said, I can understand why it was locked. As Carl pointed out earlier in the thread, MBP had started a few recent threads that pushed hot buttons and the moderator who locked the thread probably thought that enough was enough.

Rol's thread - It was him pretending to make an unbiased review and poking fun at how biased he actually is. Not his best work but clever enough for me to get a chuckle. Now I can understand to some of the newcomers that Rol might look like a jerk here, but for every thread that he makes criticizing Sony, he usually makes three that are critical towards Nintendo or their 3rd party library. I wouldn't lock this thread either.

Galaki's thread - I actually really like the Mole Kart thread. It was a parody of Rol's parody and was really about nothing. The "I've played neither" line really cracked me up. Now I can hear some people claim that stuff like this isn't necessary and is spam but you could argue the same thing about a Seinfeld episode. I wouldn't lock this either.

In the end, I am not one for locking joke threads unless the intent is bad. Let's say you are a person that does hit and run posts constantly putting down Microsoft and then you start making joke threads at Micosoft's expense just to anger MS fans. Then you'd probably be moderated.

There's an old saying that if a joke doesn't piss someone off that it probably isn't funny. I'm not sure if that's true, but it seems to be the case on this site.

Also, Jay Wood I don't think that anyone was attacking your team of reviewers or any of that. It's just that many Unbiased Reviews have popped up recently and people parody the hot topics. Cracked and Mad magazine always parody the latest blockbusters not because they are bad but because they are popular. You should be happy that your series is taking off. I actually was thinking about making an Unbiased Review on 007 Legends before these 3 popped up but thought against it. I was going to talk about how it was the greatest game ever made (which obviously isn't the case). Would that have been funny or not? Who knows?

In the end, I have to say that people really need to lighten up. Nowadays people get mad at me when I tell a joke because I wouldn't get away with it if I was a moderator. Wrong. I've been doing it for years. It is okay to playfully poke fun at things as long as you're not ignorant about it. If this site was all about number crunching and no jokes being allowed then I wouldn't want to be here. Everyone, sit back relax, and have a good time.

Thank you!  That was the by far the best answer I've heard.  I just wanted moderators to give me an answer or opinions about this issue.  I appreciate the response and the length lol  Kind of surprised not many moderators has came in here to answer but I appreciate the ones who has.
