It's a nice device but non professionals really don't need this.

Surface RT works awesome for browsing, email, office and productivity, light gaming and pretty much anything else you throw at it. The app store is growing very fast too and should be on par with other tablet platforms within 6 months.

You an also remote desktop X86 apps like photoshop or citrix off your desktop if you really need to which works surprisingly fast.

This is true.  It is so much more than an iPad.  I had my first experience with the RT at the weekend.  I was very very impressed.  Did you get a 32gb or the 64gb?

I am getting my wife one and wondered if i shoud get the 32gb and buy a keyboard cover.  Upgrading memory if required later or just forget that and get the 64GB and have done with it?

I got the 32 GB model standalone and bought the type cover...not the touch one. I like the little give in keys that the type cover offers.

I also got a 32 GB micro SD card for movies and music.

the thing is, the Plex app that came out few weeks ago allows me to stream movies and music to the surface from my PC and works really well. So I don't think I even need the SD card storage. 100s of movies and 80 GB of music I have is just an internet connection away.
