Yeah, in the console market, where everyone has the same hardware, pushing the games to the hardware's limit became almost imperative. But it was that kind of blind pursuit that choked off growth in PC gaming. Costs thousands just to play a game was and still is ridiculous.
Blizzard showed restraint and let their gaming franchises do the playing, not the polygons. Hopefully after this incomng nextgen, gaming finds center around fun first and not just stunnin g visuals.
