This statement ascertained by you basically goes without a base on explaning the reasons why Sony can't afford to launch. They needn't launch too. The financial state of Sony is not like they were in the PS2 heydays. But they launced Vita yet. If it had to be a six month delay, Sony would strive to release their next console. It's just as Kaz mentioned and it makes sense too. PS3 doesn't deserve a successor as much as the 360 does. It was released much later and continues to perform in the current market which is good.
