Man, things spiral out of control quickly don't they. |
Nah, this never did matter. Yes, Germans demanded from us to give a part of our country so that they could connect the parts of their country - which was absurd, even just because it would divide our country in two parts as well. But do you think that had we given them that small part, they'd decide not to attack us? Seriously? You think that a railroad to Prussia would convince Hitler to abandon his plan of world domination? Don't be joking...
And our forces were not a hundredth of their forces. In fact, had Russia not attacked us in the back on 17th of September 1939 (something I found that many people in the West don't know about), the history of WWII could have looked different. We were losing that war, but were still live and kicking 3 weeks into the war, when Russians attacked. This also puts the bravery of the French in new light, since we fought vs. Germany and Russia longer, than they did vs. Germany alone...
| mai said: My point is Pilsudski, Poland in general and a lot of other figurants were as much of an assholes as everyone else, they're nobody's victims except of their ambitions, or rather lack of power to fullfil them. Want to play with big boys? Take responsibility. And as usual they ended up being "partitioned" for a... 6th time, right? :D Instead of taking part in "partitioning" of somebody else like Czechoslovakia, which they did, or any other neighbour at the time, as they hoped. |
As I proved in the earlier post, no. Neither Piłsudski, nor Poland has ever been as much of an asshole as you were, sorry. And we have never been a particularly aggressive nation focusing on conquest - something you probably don't understand. And we know how to fight with the "big boys". We have never lost a single war against either Russia or Germany, that was fought 1 vs. 1. The only times you won, was when you allied up against us. "Big boys" teaming up to fight the smallest nation out of them all... When we conquered Russia, the single country in history that managed it, we didn't need help from anyone...
And we were partitioned 3 times. 4 if you count 1939, though we don't count it as one.
