Surface looks much more fluid, but I think his gripes about switching from mobile -> web on Nexus 10 Chrome are obsolete. At the end, when he's zooming on both tablets is he using the mobile or web version or a facebook app? I have a suspicion it's either a facebook app or mobile version on Nexus 10 which is why he can only zoom so far.

I agree, its a minor issue at best.

A bigger issue for me is that the high res screen on the nexus is actually hurting the web experience since all images are upscalling and looking fuzzy.

That and the lag and slowness on the nexus obviously...

Actually, the Nexus devices aren't laggy (I've a N7 and it's absurdly fast). The Chrome browser version in it is a little heavy indeed, but it have the advantage of beeing very complete for a mobile browser, rendering pages exactly like the desktop version. Some sites are faster on my WP IE browser, but it isn't rendering pages like the desktop browser, with a lot of missing parts and problems specially with CSS and JS, so it isn't a good comparison.
