I don't know about Mao Zedong, but Stalin definitely did.  And just so you know I think Assad is a monster but still, on the scale of things he is relatively minor, if only because he doesn't have the same capabilities and resources to become a much bigger monster.

I'm pretty sure he would do more if he could I mean he targets starving people waiting in line for bread

who ever supports such a monster are monsters themselves!
