It's pretty funny how AMD CPUs are getting trashed like crazy by PC enthusiasts yet seems like they will be all the rage with consoles.

AMD is in a serious need of money so they probably offered a lot cheaper deal for Sony and MS than Intel or IBM.

Yeah, AMD is quite competitive on price from the get go.

I like AMD CPUs myself... Most PC game benchmarks that favor Intel tend to be very biased for single threaded performance. If you run Antivirus, while streaming a video somewhere else and playing Crysis 2, AMD 8 core will be better than Intel's. And I think that's what these consoles are going for...multitasking multimedia machines.

Yeah also running AMD CPU and really want them to stay in business so that Intel will have at least some competition. Rocking Phenom II X6 1055T and still plays games great =P My friends laughed at me when I went with X6 instead of normal X4 Phenoms as back then X4 were actually little quicker with games as they had higher clocks but I think that now I am starting to reap the benefits of those extra two cores.
