Forget about a BC drive for the Vita. Why contruct and sell something like this, when they can just one more time sell you these PSP games on PSN?

I think there is no need for a Vita XL. The console is big enough.

I can imagine millions potential users wouldn't be happy at all about having to buy again the same games they already own, so that drive could be a selling feature for them. Add also those with slow internet connection or no internet connection at all, even if temporarily (for example on vacation). Add those with wireless internet with a download limit in their flat fees, that once exceeded turns into either horribly expensive pay per download or severely slowed down connection. Add those that want to own their games on physical media because they feel more free, or whatether other reason, and obviously want their media to remain playable. Without such drive all these people will have to stick with their old PSPs and this can both slow their purchase of PSVs and reduce their use of the new console once they buy it, slowing also the purchase of new PSV games. The tranquillity of having all their old games available and playable on the new console whenever they want and without limits could prevent them from feeling their old gaming world is threatened, reduce nostalgia induced by this defensive feeling and actually accelerate the new console's adoption.
