Sony just needs to do their own thing. They were most expensive this entire gen with inferior 3rd party games due to cell and they will end up at at least 90m units. If they release the same year as Xbox within $50 of it they will be just fine. Exclusives and free online sell PS over xbox and that will continue to be the case next gen. The difference in graphics will not be noticeable even though I'm almost certain xbox will be more powerful. I saw a breakdown where they said Sony could achieve 1080p 60fps with 4gb of RAM for multitasking and it would cost around $400. I don't believe they factored in that consoles take a hell of a lot less power than PCs to output the same graphics so they may be able to achieve it with even less cost or sell at a profit and I don't think nextbox would look that much better in comparison to those stats.
Most of all I have confidence that ND, SSM, GG, Suckerpunch, and all the other fantastic 1st party studios will make PS4 games look jaw dropping with modern tech considering ND is still wowing us with 6 year old tech and 256mb of RAM.
