Well we are in a period of warming since period of cooling stopped 40+ years ago. My outlook is that we cannot do anything about it atm. Only way to stop is to lower the population of the world, and that is not happening without a nuclear war or something. And that would not help either.
Our Fossil fuel reserves are depleting anyways, within 200 years coal and every other important fossil fuel will be used up at our current rate. A rate which I think will only get higher with the medium sized economies becoming large. After that we will not have to worry about polluting the Earth because the Earth will adjust itself after that. 200 years is a really short amount of time for Earth and is fairly short for even people.
