But keep in mind that neither Sony nor MS have shown anything final yet. All these rumours are just that, frustrated "analysts" who are ordered to write an article about nothing they were shown. That is why you get the "720 is umpteen times more powerful than PS4" and "PS4 is blatimes more powerful than 720" - gotta fill those pages and if Pachter can do it, they can do it too.
What we know from the MS leaked goal sheets is the simple fact thatthe X720 will have MORE raw cpu power than the PS4. This is no surprise since the 720 has to run the Kinect2 in software which requires a lot (and I mean a lot assuming high resolution) more processing power than current Kinect. The end result will be: 720 games that run Kinect will probably not quite reach PS4 game quality, while 720 games that do not use Kinect will probably be considerybly "better" than PS4 counterparts (whatever the end meaning of "better" will be).
Everybody, keep in mind that both consoles are supposed to arrive this fall/winter. Manufacturing rules tell us that ALL component contracts were sealed by mid-2012 at the latest, this is how the industry works. At that time, AMD had NOTHING to show to MS/Sony what has been rumoured in the past months ("New Jaguar cores...... ATI GCN2 gpus" - all hogwash, I very seriously doubt that either company (or any existing company) signed $billion contracts based on paper hardware).
