It's more like fanboys who hate MS try to discredit downloadable games because they know MS has a huge advantage over Sony and Nintendo in that category. I don't know why you're talking about the sales importance of downloadable games, that isn't relevant to the thread discussion at all. The thread is about continuing to support the 360 and PS3. MS has always been huge on XBLA games. They will continue to show that support. They will continue to dominate the competition in that area. So, naturally, you will continue to devalue downloadable games. What does your opinion over how much weight new buyers put into XBLA games matter? One way or another, it doesn't change the fact that the support is there.

As for Sony creating the 10 year plan.. nah. Nintendo already did it twice with the NES and Game Boy. It's incredibly easy to do when you have a dominant console that people will support for 10 years. That's the key part, it has to be something people are willing to support for 10 years. You can't just say "we have a 10 year plan!". Sony said that at the start of the gen, but I am sure being in 3rd place entering 2013 and losing all the money the PS2 brought in weren't part of that plan so who knows if they can still make it.

The Xbox didn't even break 25 million IIRC. It was losing MS a lot of money and not many people were buying it so they focused on next gen. Are they really copying anyone (you incorrectly say Sony), by supporting the system longer or are just simply enjoying a longer generation cycle because they now have a console people will actually continue to buy and support? It's not rocket science.
